Interconnection equipment and smart home gateway interface

Gateway interface for smart home is a two-way communication component between KNX equipment and related systems.

Zennio has a wide range of interfaces for the integration of air conditioning units from various manufacturers:

  • KLIC-MITT v2 (KNX-Mitsubishi Electric Gateway) – interface for controlling Mitsubishi Electric air conditioning units from the KNX system in a bidirectionally way
  • KLIC-FJ (KNX-Fujitsu / General / Hiyasu / Fuji Electric Gateway) – interface for controlling Fujitsu, General, Hiyasu and Fuji Electric air conditioning units from the KNX system in a bidirectionally way
  • KLIC-PA (KNX-Panasonic Gateway) – interface for controlling Panasonic air conditioning units from the KNX system in a bidirectionally way
  • KLIC-DD v3 (Bus KNX to Daikin Residential) – interface for controlling Daikin air conditioning units from the KNX system in a bidirectionally way
  • KLIC-TS (KNX-Toshiba Gateway) – interface for controlling Toshiba air conditioning units from the KNX system in a bidirectionally way
  • KLIC-LG1 (KNX-LG Gateway) – interface for controlling LG air conditioning units from the KNX system in a bidirectionally way

Through interfaces (gateways) we can integrate various systems in a smart home, such as: audio-video, defrosting, automation of doors and / or gates, video intercom, security systems, irrigation systems, etc.

Through interconnection we can define scenarios so that the system can interact with the user of a smart home, starting with its identification by the security system, at the entrance of the house. Thus, the system can start a predefined scenario assigned to that user, depending on the time, temperature, etc.

To describe more explicitly, we propose a case study: a smart home beneficiary arrives at home and enters the access code for disarmament (which is unique for each user). At this point, the system identifies the user and operates the following:

  • Start the climate in the areas of interest of the person, depending on the time, indoor and outdoor temperature
  • Turns on the lighting in the areas of interest depending on the requirements of the beneficiary
  • Lowers or raises the rollers or blinds depending on the time and the outdoor lighting
  • Depending on your preferences, other related systems can be activated, such as sound system.

Meters – the advantages of KNX meters compared to conventional ones are the registration of consumption logs, ensuring the user’s option to periodically generate consumption graphs / reports, signaling abnormal consumption or reporting peak loads.
